My First Blog Post

Poetry

Hi guys!!! This is my first blog post. I am a person who is always fond of poetry. I wanted to give it a try. This is the first poem I have written.

NEVER DID I KNOW

I caught your breath near the scruff of my neck, Never did I know, I turned then to tune in your heart evermore.

You courted me till I became your lasting friend, Never did I know then, we would hold hands till blue in our faces.

You turned my forlorn tears to enduring smiles, Never did I see a life without you then.

As I walked by your side, I grew fond of you, Never did I know, you would leave me halfway through.

All I have now with me is the shattered dreams and lost hopes, Never did I know, you would be the first to leave for the welkin.

My Travel Adventure

The wind blew through my hair and sang its song of time that had long gone and hopes for the time ahead. As the wind ruffled through my hair covering my eyes, I pulled my long brown hair back and tied it back into a ponytail. I sat back in the comfortable chair on the deck of the cruise where a few people were tanning their body under the sun. I enjoyed the ocean breezes whisper into my ear and felt the cool and moist air blowing over my face.
I decided to take a stroll around the cruise and explore it. On my way in the west wing of the cruise, I had a strange feeling of someone following me. I turned back to see if anyone was there. All I saw was the long empty corridor filled with nothing but a loud silence. I took a deep breath and scampered to the dining. The dining was crammed with people waiting for the feast to begin as it was the last night on the cruise. I spotted my friends in the dining and joined them for dinner. I shared with them about the quaint incident that had taken place in the corridor of the west wing. As I finished telling them, we heard some elderly woman talking about the west wing of the cruise being haunted. My friend Maya dropped the plate as listening to the conversation. There was a deafening silence after she dropped her plate down. Neera and I dragged Maya who was still in shock out of the dining. We tried convincing Maya it was nothing but she wouldn’t listen. So we decided that we shall go to the west wing immediately and prove it to Maya that there is nothing haunting the place. Anyway we had to pass by the west wing to go to our room.
After dinner, when we reached the west wing on our way to the room. The corridor in the west wing was completely like any other corridor in the cruise. It was illuminated with lamps. The reflection of the light on the ocean was breathtaking. It was only till we heard somebody knocking the door on the corridor from inside the room. My heart beat literally stopped. We turned around quickly and saw the door open slowly. Maya and I closed our eyes as tightly as possible. The room was dark inside and we heard a one toned guttural voice. All three of us started shouting. As he came out of the room, his face was clearly visible under the light and it was not those terrifying faces they show in horror movies. He told us that we were disturbing him and he went into his room back. All three of us burst out laughing. We went to our room and slept comfortably. This was my travel adventure that I could never forget.
